Knowledge and Experiences
Essential:
Experience
- A track record of achievement in the drafting and implementation of strategy and policy in a large/complex organisation.
- Delivery of robust, pragmatic strategies that have stood up to senior scrutiny and been implemented by key operational teams.
- Experience in policy analysis, impact assessment/evaluation or benefits management techniques applied to a place, business, portfolio or project.
- Demonstrable experience of leading/undertaking/commissioning strategic analysis in the public or private sector, for example:
o determination of goals
o industry/sectoral analysis
o analysis of resources/capabilities
o strategy implementation (organisation structure and management systems)
- Ability to analyse, interpret, present and clearly communicate complex briefings to colleagues at all levels in an organisation through production of concise and insightful briefing notes and papers.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with futures/foresighting techniques, strategy-making, business/operating model tooling and using these to stimulate and facilitate stakeholder discussions on strategy formulation.
Desirable
- Experience of business planning and portfolio management.
- Experience at a strategy consulting firm.
- Educated to degree level and/or relevant advanced professional qualification (e.g. MBA)
- Knowledge of the strategic context and data sources relevant to policing and how this informs policy, publications, reports and publicly available performance indicators.
- Good commercial acumen.
- Appreciation of different project and product management methodologies.
