Staff Officer (2 year fixed term contract)
Essential Knowledge and Experience
You will have:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to produce and critique reports, papers and deliver briefings
- Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to identify risks and issues, solve complex problems and innovate.
- Be personably credible, with discretion and integrity.
- Awareness and sensitivity to manage successfully in a political environment.
- Able to deliver results in a pressured environment with the ability to make rational decisions and take decisive action.
- Confident and capable in providing advice on policy, procedure and strategy up to and including strategic level
Conditions
Based at
Lloyd House, in Birmingham city centre, the role has standard full time
contractual hours with agile / flexible working available. You will work
alongside a team of other Staff Officers to provide cover for the Command Team
between 0800 hours and 1700 hours on weekdays.
This
role is a two year fixed term contract.
Interviews
will take place in October 2020.
Please note: There are two posts available which have
differing start dates. The first start date will be in November 2020 (subject to successful vetting), with the second
start date in January 2021 (subject
to successful vetting).

information workshops will run to provide candidates with further information
on:
Tuesday 22 September 2020, 13.00-14.00 hrs
