ROCU- Operational Security Advisor
Essential Criteria
Prior education and experience:
- Specialist training and experience in operational security techniques and approaches
- Experience of attending incidents and problem solving, particularly in difficult circumstances, including major and critical incidents and in the application of Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Programme (JESIP) principles.
Skills:
- To provide practical recommendations to operational problems and also possess the necessary interpersonal skills to influence corporate stakeholders
- To provide advice and guidance on sensitive operations
- To represent the organisation at regional and national level on all operational security matters pertaining to covert operations, policy and tactical development
- Good communication skills with the ability to listen to others
- Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work and use resources effectively and efficiently.
- Able to identify, analyse and manage risk to inform balanced, proportionate, evidence based decisions.
- Able to identify cause and effect and develop a course of action designed to mitigate security breaches.
- Able to break down a problem into component parts and determine appropriate action
- Able to interpret and apply guidance to a specific activity
- Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work
- Able to proactively develop effective working relationships with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders
Location:
Based in central Birmingham but required to attend sites across the West Midlands region as required
Interviews:
Potential Interview dates – w/c 13th June 2022
Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process
Medical:
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
