Essential
- Previous experience of producing clear, concise and accurate reports
- Experience of working in an environment dealing with the public
- Working knowledge of confidentiality and data protection issues
- Be willing to successfully undertake any training requirements in respect of the role, which will include:
- Personal Safety Training
- West Midlands Police IT Systems training
- Experience of working effectively in a team
Desirable:
- Investigation and evidence gathering experience
- Previous experience in criminal law and criminal justice system
- Working knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act
- Knowledge of police policy and procedures in relation to the role
- Experience of dealing with conflict
- Experience of working in a multi-agency environment, working with partner agencies

- Requirement to hold a full UK driving license and be willing to pass the WMP driving test to drive unmarked Police vehicles if required
Vetting-
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process
Medical-(Operational)
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
Location-
The role will be based at Aston Police Station,Queens Road,Aston Birmingham B6 7ND. The role will require daily travel around the force area and occasionally further afield.
Hours of Work-
Hours of work may include shifts and weekend working for which you would be compensated accordingly. Post holder may be required and expected to work outside these hours from time to time including Bank holidays and be required to work at short notice. This role may require the post holder to perform duties on a force wide basis.Requirement to travel out of the force area, where necessary, to progress investigations
Recruitment Process:
The process will consist of a written application form followed by an interview based around the Competency and Values Framework (CVF). Interviews may take place in person or over MS Teams depending on the needs of the candidate and the panel.
