Performance Analyst
Previous Experience and Skills
You will be part of an
organisation of both police officers and police staff colleagues and should be
able to demonstrate an excellent range of transferrable skills.

The ideal
candidate will be able to deliver a creative and innovative approach to
understanding and communicating performance issues to and on behalf of our
partner law enforcement agencies in the UK. You will develop the data
collection strategies for NABIS to deliver the analytical products in support of the senior decision makers and develop frameworks using structured analytical
techniques. You will carry out projects, reviews, assessments and evaluations to help
interpret operational performance using Statistical Process Control (SPC)
methodology.
You will
report to senior decision making forums via written and verbal reports, using
information from a variety of sources, to deliver data and statistics on behalf
of NABIS in a timely and accurate manner. You will be required to conduct research,
including questionnaire design and the analysis and interpretation of responses; actively participate in briefings, meetings, seminars and workshops. Gather, present and exchange performance related information with partner
agencies.
You will be expected to be an active team member and support the Heads of Departments in all aspects of performance management. You will work without direct supervision using your own initiative and experience. You will perform a pivotal role in delivering the NABIS performance function to support work targeting the Criminal Use of Firearms.
Essential Criteria:

A good standard of education, including a
minimum Grade C for Maths and English Language GCSE.

An understanding of research and statistical techniques,
including the ability to undertake research, determine the most appropriate
methodology, formulate and test hypotheses
·
Experience
in working in the business area of performance management, research or
statistics.
·
Ability
to research, collate, analyse and interpret data from a wide range of sources.
·
A
significant level of skill in the use of Microsoft Office products, data mining
tools and other relevant computer based information and analysis systems, for
example Qlik.
·
Proven numerical ability.
·
Able to work methodically and logically with an
enquiring and analytical mind.
·
Effective written and
verbal communication skills and the ability to work with people at all
levels.
·
Ability to prioritise own workload and manage
competing demands.
Desirable Criteria:
·
Degree in a research/statistical discipline or
other relevant subject (or demonstration of the intellectual abilities
associated with that level).
·
Knowledge and understanding of performance
management theory and techniques.
·
Problem solving skills accompanied with
innovative and creative thinking.
·
Previous Experience / knowledge of UK Policing
would be an advantage.
