Knowledge and Experience

Essential:
  • Be a practising ADI or
  • Experienced Police driver (minimum of advanced car driver grade)
Desirable:

Knowledge or experience in any of the following areas;
  • Police Driving Instructor qualification. 
  • First Aid at work qualified 
  • Police Training Role Learning development Programme - trainer qualified or equivalent
Skills:

Essential:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Literate in Police IT systems
  • Able to influence and negotiate
  • Able to develop effective working partnerships
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to drive to ADI standard or
  • Ability to drive to Police advanced car driver level
  • Can work independently, without close supervision.
Desirable:
  • Ability to drive to Police Driving Instructor level
Additional Information (inc vetting level required): 
  • Hold a full UK driving licence - B category
  • DSA approved driving instructor or experience as an advanced police driver
  • Continued employment requires the employee to pass the Police Driver trainer course 
  • Must pass a health assessment
  • Must pass an eyesight test at Advanced car driver level.
