About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a substantive Sergeant wishing to work within the Regional Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU).

The RCCU is part of a national network of dedicated cyber teams responsible for tackling the threat posed by cybercrime. Based within the Regional Organised Crime Unit they provide a regional investigative function around serious offences of cyber dependent crime, and work with partners to enhance the wider understanding of the threat from cyber criminality.

Comprising specialist staff and officers from the 4 regional forces, we provide a wide variety of services to deliver a holistic approach under the 4P strategy (Pursue, Prevent, Prepare, Protect), and provide wider support across a range of demands. 

Controlled through a national tasking process, the RCCU also work alongside national and international partners as part of the UK’s National Cyber Security Strategy.

Essential Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience of managing Serious and Complex investigations
  • Understanding and experience of handling sensitive information, including managing disclosure and case file preparation
  • Knowledge and experience of covert deployments
  • Experience of working with partner agencies domestically and internationally
  • A keen interest in Cyber Crime and Technology
  • PIP2 qualified or able to demonstrate necessary experience of managing complex investigations
Additional Information:
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass relevant vetting requirements to DV
  • Must hold a current driving licence
  • Should be flexible within the workplace – including undertaking on-call responsibilities
  • Should be flexible to travelling domestically and internationally when required
  • Role is based in central Birmingham with regional and national deployments as required

  • Monday 28th January 2019 - 13.30 - 14.30 Rm 1.5 Lloyd House, Birmingham
  • Thursday 31st January 2019 - 11.00 - 12.00 Rm 1.5 Lloyd House, Birmingham
