Transport Planning Officer (Commonwealth Games Logistics Support)
The Person
Essential:
- The ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, enabling effective collaboration whilst having the ability to influence and negotiate with partners.
- Excellent geographical, logistical knowledge and experience.
- The ability to deliver and plan presentations.
- The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise tasks.
- To be competent in the use of MS Office, in particular Microsoft Excel, and be able to develop a good knowledge of WMP departmental structures, intranet and IT systems.
- To be able to interpret data, and design plans in line with the Transport Strategy.
- The ability to problem solve and provide effective solutions.
- Managing the overall process, decision making.
- Understanding European & UK driving laws
Desirable:
- To have technical knowledge and practical understanding of bus operations related to major event management, drivers’ hours, vehicle restrictions etc.
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner
- The ability to set objectives to short and medium term cycles, co-ordinating a complex range of activities and balancing competing needs.
Conditions:
- Interviews will be held during January 2021
- Post holder to commence their role on 1st March 2021
- Successful applicants will be subject to appropriate vetting.
- Successful applicants will be expected to be committed to remain in the group until the delivery of the Commonwealth Games in August 2022 and for post event reporting unless under exceptional circumstances.
