Grade: Band D Lower

Salary: £27,795 to £33,933

As a trainer with the Specialist Investigative section you will be responsible for the research, design and delivery of learning and development programmes required to enhance delivery by our police officers and police staff investigators. You will have experience of carrying out investigations which may be in policing or in the field of finance, insurance, social care, or similar for the public or private sector and will understand basic principles of how to carry out an investigation. WMP are particularly keen to recruit police staff investigators with an existing working knowledge of digital media and cybercrime, being a huge emerging threat.

 

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a willingness to continue to learn in the role for which you are applying. You will work in a small team of specialist investigative trainers as well as the bigger Operational Learning and Development department.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential: 
  • Basic knowledge and experience of carrying out investigations
  • Basic knowledge of rules relating to police investigations
  • Experience of using basic IT systems including windows based technology
Desirable: 
  • Experience of delivering to individuals and larger groups of people in a learning environment
  • Holds or is willing to work toward and pass a recognised/accredited trainer qualification minimum Level 3
  • Holds or is willing to work toward and pass a recognised/accredited assessor qualification minimum level 3
