The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Building Surveyor will have: 
  • A professional qualification HNC /or degree in a Building Surveying / Construction Management or relevant subject.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team at a senior level in Property Management.
  • Proven experience of the Property Industry in Construction/Building Maintenance Management.
  • Proven financial management experience and awareness together with the ability to manage budgets and deliver efficiency savings.
  • Knowledge of legal and health and safety legislation in the construction industry. 
  • Proficient use of IT including Word and Excel documents.
Essential
  • Ability to work within a fast paced and reactive organisation with competing demands. 
  • Ability to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively lead, develop and implement change. 
  • Proven ability to deliver results through people managed performance.
  • Excellent people skills and experience of successfully managing and developing a team. 
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
Desirable
  • Use of Estates Asset Management systems, Microsoft Project and CAD.
  • Knowledge and understanding of national police contract and procurement procedures.
  • The ability to innovate.
