ROCU Performance Analyst- 1 year Fixed Term Contract/Secondment
Knowledge and experience
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in the use of Microsoft Office products particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
- Experience in obtaining qualitative and quantitative data through appropriate means, to an agreed specification.
- An ability to understand and grasp new and or complex situations and analyse them in a logical manner using appropriate techniques, including conducting in depth analysis using a variety of analysis tools and statistical approaches.
- Will be able to evidence the ability to extract and combine large and complex datasets using reporting software such as MS Excel, including experience of writing complex formulae and the ability to apply statistical tests.
- The post holder will be expected to hold a statistically based Degree or have proven relevant experience.
- Must be able to travel to varying work locations regionally and nationally.
- Experience of using business objects or similar report writing tool to extract data and build reports.
- Experience of giving verbal presentations and briefings.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a law enforcement or national security environment.
- Experience of working performance or management information environment.
- A knowledge of, or willingness to learn the required organisational and professional knowledge to carry out the role effectively, including Force, regional and national structure and procedures, relevant legislation, recognised national guidance and standards of good practice.
- Experience in the interpretation and reporting information to senior leaders and business area leads.
Skills:
Essential:
- Must be able to communicate at all levels (both verbal and written) in a concise, factual and unambiguous manner, taking into accounts the needs of intended audience, particularly the ability to package ideas and results in a logical, understandable and compelling way for all audiences- including operational colleagues, business area leads, senior management and partners.
- Must be flexible and able to work on own initiative and with the minimum amount if supervision, and must be able to manage workloads against critical time constraints and demonstrate organisational skills.
- Must be prepared to learn new processes and procedures
Hours:
Monday to Friday, occasional weekend working to cover quarter end reporting.
Work style:
Agile working / mix of office and homeworking
Vetting and Medical:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting, Secruity Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process. Appointment to this role will also be dependent upon successfully passing medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
