ROCU - Operations Team - Investigator Post (Detective Constable)
Essential Skills & Experience
- To have passed the National Investigators Exam (NIE) and be able to demonstrate progress towards completion of the ICIDP portfolio or demonstrate a commitment to pass the NIE and complete the ICIDP portfolio
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective interviewing and statement taking skills
- Effective file building skills including a working knowledge of disclosure principles
- Evidence of adapting to a new environment and absorbing complex matters quickly and efficiently
- Demonstrate and exhibit high standards of integrity and professionalism
- Possess a valid UK driving licence and a basic police driving grade
- Security Clearance & Management Vetting is required for this position
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Initial Crime Investigator Development Programme qualification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of RIPA legislation
- Knowledge of covert policing techniques
- Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model, together with the tasking and coordination process
- Standard and/or Advanced police driving grade
Additional information
The role requires the post holder to:-
- pass Security Clearance and Management Vetting (condition of post being offered)
- perform duties on a regional basis
- be willing to perform ‘on call’ duties (approx 7 times per month)
- demonstrate a willingness to travel and be flexible when required; occasionally changing duties at short notice and
- taking account of individual circumstances, a willingness and flexibility to be available when required for call out at short notice
