ROCU Investigative Teams - Detective Constable
Essential knowledge and experience
Post holders will be required to display and evidence:
- Possesses the Initial Crime Investigator Development Programme qualification, (or equivalent) and proven investigatory experience involving complex crime investigations, or working towards this accreditation having completed the National Investigators Exam and be able to demonstrate progress towards completion of portfolio.
- Demonstrate and exhibit high standards of integrity and professionalism Desirable knowledge and experience
- Experience of undertaking sensitive high profile enquiries with limited supervision and Demonstrate and exhibit high standards of integrity and professionalism
- Demonstrate and exhibit high standards of integrity and professionalism
- Knowledge of RIPA legislation, structure and practices
- Knowledge of covert policing techniques
- Experience in the role of Case / Exhibits/Disclosure/Investigating Officer within a major investigation environment - Working knowledge of the National Intelligence Model, together with the tasking and coordination process - Have a valid UK driving licence and advanced and/or basic police driving grade.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective interviewing and statement taking skills
- Effective file building skills including disclosure principles and presenting complex information.
- Evidence of adapting to a new environment and absorbing complex matters quickly and efficiently
- The post requires a significant amount of flexibility and occasionally involves short notice changes to working hours due to the nature of the role.
- The role requires the post holder to perform duties on a regional basis
- A willingness to travel and be flexible when required responding to call out at short notice
- Performing the on call requirement when stated
