ROCU Intelligence Supervisor - Cooperating (Assisting) Offender Unit
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Essential Requirements:
- College of Policing Assisting Offender Debriefing Course and maintain accreditation.
- Competent interviewer or manager of witnesses and suspect interviews pass a future PIP Level 2 (Tier 3) Specialist Interviewer course or PIP Level 2 (Tier 5) Interview Advisor’s Course].
- Meet the standards criteria for Developed Vetting
- Accredited Detective and experienced in the investigation of serious crime and management of sensitive disclosure.
- Compliance with the Code of Ethics.
- Working understanding of CPIA.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Prepare documentation and conduct briefings to a high standard.
- Accredited PIP Level 2 (Tier 3) Specialist Interviewer or (Tier 5) Interview Advisor.
- Ability to liaise with other WMP departments, representing the Assisting Offender Unit, whilst understanding the needs of those other departments.
- Ability to liaise with other agencies, representing WMP whilst understanding the needs of those agencies.
- Ability to brief senior officers.
- Accurate and timely record keeping.
- Ability to take personal responsibility for ensuring duties are completed in a timely and competent manner.
- The appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on the results of a vetting procedures and successful completion of a residential Assisting Offender Debrief Course (currently one week in duration) and consequent accreditation in the role.
- Although working hours are generally aligned to the core office hours of partner agencies such as CPS and HMPS, the hours may be unpredictable and inflexible. The debrief team is small and the roles are inter-dependant, which will influence decisions of hours of work, time-off and annual leave, although every reasonable effort is made is accommodate requests.
- Applicants should note that Assisting Offender Debrief Courses are run by the College of Policing and are infrequently held. As such, applicant should recognise that they will be expected to commit to the role for a minimum of 3 years.
