ROCU - Intelligence Officer - Debrief Officer - Assisting Offender Unit
Essential Requirements:
- Attend and pass a College of Policing Assisting Offender Debriefing Course and maintain accreditation.
- Competent interviewer of witnesses and suspect interviews pass a future PIP Level 2 (Tier 3) Specialist Interviewer course or PIP Level 2 (Tier 5) Interview Advisor’s Course].
- Experience in the investigation of serious crime and management of sensitive disclosure.
- Compliance with the Code of Ethics.
- Working understanding and application of CPIA.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Prepare documentation and conduct briefings to a high standard.
Desirable Requirements:
- Accredited PIP Level 2 (Tier 3) Specialist Interviewer or (Tier 5) Interview Advisor.
- Ability to liaise with other departments and agencies, representing the Assisting Offender Unit and WMROCU, whilst understanding the needs of those other departments.
- Ability to brief senior officers.
- Accurate and timely record keeping.
- Ability to take personal responsibility for ensuring duties are completed in a timely and competent manner.
Special Conditions:
- Restriction level: The post holder will be subject to MV and SC (Enhanced) vetting / clearance.
- The post holder will work normal office hours, the role is currently based near Birmingham city centre.
- The appointment of the successful candidate will be conditional on the results of the vetting procedures and successful completion of a Debrief Course (currently one week in duration) and consequent accreditation in the role.
