ROCU Intellectual Property Crime Co-ordinator
Essential;
- Knowledge of IP Crime at an operational or regional level, with understanding of the operational framework of collaborating agencies.
- A degree and/or equivalent related experience in a police role or similar environment.
- Demonstrable understanding of intelligence/performance management processes and techniques.
- Experience of debating complex issues, report writing/presentation skills with an ability to communicate articulately at all levels of the organisation. Ability to maintain effective working relationships internally and at a national level with partner agencies.
- Experience of serious crime investigation or assisting in such investigations from a partner agency/law enforcement perspective.
- Able to work effectively with minimum supervision taking ownership for areas of work within IP Crime, to prioritise workloads and to produce accurate work within tight deadlines.
- Experience of working closely with analysts and analytical products to help form National, Regional and Local recommendations to help drive 4P activity across IP Crime areas and to influence key stakeholders at local, regional and national levels.
- Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other Police systems such as Niche RMS, PNC and PND.
- Must have capability to travel to different locations across the Force/Nationally and undertake all assignments in a timely manner.
- Be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level. Due to the requirement to work flexibly, unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working; public transport may not be available or suitable at these times. For this reason, a full UK driving licence is considered essential *.
Desirable;
- Experience of investigating and managing IP crime and/or Financial/Money Laundering Investigations in a multi-agency setting whilst managing risk, threat and harm.
Supervisory responsibilities: The post holder is responsible for the supervision of IP analyst.

- Within ROCU WM and WM Regional Forces:
- Regular contact and/or attendance at meetings with Police Officers of all ranks, Police Staff of all grades and embedded partners agencies and units within ROCU WM and WM Regional Forces to exchange intelligence / information where appropriate and brief personnel as required on intelligence and other relevant matters.
- Outside ROCU WM and WM Regional Forces
- Regular contact and/or attendance at meetings with other forces and regions, other law enforcement agencies including NCA, key partner agencies and community safety partners to exchange intelligence/information where appropriate and brief personnel on intelligence or other relevant matters. Also contact with members of the public may be required.
CONTEXT:
- Operating Environment:
- Post holder will work Mon-Fri during office hours. There may also be a requirement to work at other locations within the Region or be beyond.
ROCU Standards
The post holder should ensure that the working practices of the Unit are in line with legislation covered by the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act, European Convention of Human Rights, Health & Safety, Data Protection, MOPI, Employee Regulations, Discipline Codes, Regional MOUs and Information Sharing agreements

Vetting:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting and Security Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process

Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
