Qualifications,
Knowledge & Experience:
Essential
requirements
- Ability to
be forward thinking, creative and actively use initiative to overcome
challenges faced by the role and its operating environment.
- Can
operate in a fast paced environment
- Ability to
work with minimal supervision.
- Experience
in a relevant role or relevant life experience reinforced by work
experience.
- Excellent
communication/ presentation skills
- Excellent
knowledge of relevant legislation or guidelines, policies and procedures
e.g. CCA 2004, CONTEST, ISO 22301 and BCI Good Practise Guidelines
- Understanding
of IT systems, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
- Proven
analytical and research skills.
- A
willingness and ability to travel throughout the West Midlands Police area
- The post
holder will be required to undergo MV Vetting and SC Clearance
Desirable
requirements
- Possess or be studying for a relevant qualification such as a diploma or degree level in Emergency Planning/Business Continuity/Disaster Management or Crisis Management
- Membership
of Emergency Planning Society and/or Business Continuity Institute.
Supervisory responsibility
None
Supervision received
Post holder is responsible to their
line manager and department head but will normally be expected to work without
direct supervision and will be required to make decisions using own initiative.
Contacts
Post holder will have regular
contact with various people both within West Midlands Police and externally
with partner agencies.
Special conditions
The post holder will be expected to
be flexible in travelling around West Midlands Police area and occasionally
regional/national working locations. Support will be given by the department
with agile working arrangements.
Required to undertake
internal/external training and development as necessary and maintain CPD

buildings.
