Knowledge, Skills and Competence:
Essential
- Demonstrate proficient investigative skills including a good knowledge of Criminal Law together with knowledge and understanding of crime investigation procedures and reporting requirements
- Proficient in investigating online criminal offences demonstrating an understanding of online offending and technical data
Knowledge of:
- Information technology systems
- Intelligence processes
- To undertake the following mandatory training /courses
- Relevant IT systems course – Internal and external
- Relevant joint agency training with partners
- E-learning force training relevant to the role
- National, local policy and legislation relevant to the role
- Relevant training/learning relating to the role i.e. technical data, intelligence, telecoms, CEOP,
- Financial investigation
- Effective communication skills using a variety of methods to ensure clear, accurate and appropriate sharing of information
- Competent in the use of internal and external information management systems
Desirable
- Proven working experience of intelligence management
- Offender management
- Proven working experience of sex offender management
- Possess a knowledge of the role of external agencies involved in the investigation of online child sexual exploitation
Additional Information
- The role involved the viewing of indecent images of children.
- This role may require the post holder to perform duties on a force wide basis. A willingness to travel and be available where required.
- Requirement to attend training organised by external providers.
- There will be a requirement for the post hold to have access to the CAID IT system – Caid training will be provided
Vetting
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance, including MV vetting, scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Medical Information-(Non-Operational)
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully passing vetting and medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
Hours of Work
Core hours of work are 8:00 AM X 16:00 PM
