Police Prosecutors (Part-Time)
Essential
- Law Degree and/or a Member of the Institute of Legal Executive (Level 4 Criminal Law).
- Knowledge and experience in the application and interpretation of Road Traffic and other Criminal offences.
- Knowledge of the public interest and evidential test.
- Have the confidence to deal with conflict and the ability to make sound judgement.
- Knowledge of current procedures and protocols.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to provide guidance and influence at all levels.
- Evidence of successfully planning and progressing work within guidelines.
- Evidence of been able to work without direct supervision
- Evidence of working under pressure to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
- Confident public speaker
Desirable
- Experience of working with other external stakeholders such as HMCTS, CPS and Probation.
- Experience of interviewing members of the public
Core Hours of Work
- The core hours of work are between 07.00am – 17.00pm.
- However, the prosecutor must be available from 09.00am until 17.00pm on court days.
- The hours of work are 29 hours per week.
