Knowledge & Experience (including qualifications)

 
Essential
  • To possess Teaching Qualification at a minimum of Level 3
  • To possess a Degree (or equivalent) in an animal/canine related subject
  • To have an understanding of breeding protocols and blood lines
  • To have experience of delivering dog training to groups & individuals
  • To possess basic IT skills (Microsoft Office - Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Outlook)
  • Full UK Driving licence
Desirable
  • To possess a First Aid Qualification
  • To possess a Risk Assessment Qualification
  • To possess an Assessors Qualification
  • To have gained an NPCC GP or specialist instructors qualification
  • To have experience of whelping 
Skills
 
Essential
  • To possess integrity and professionalism at the highest standard
  • To be a dynamic, motivated individual who seeks a challenging role in Police Dog Training
  • To be able to work with minimal supervision & use own initiative
  • To be able to evidence a good level of management ability
  • To be able to show a high level of flexibility
  • To show a good understanding of innovative & effective training methods

  • To have an analytical mind to identify problem solving solutions
  • To demonstrate networking & relationship building skills
