Planning Officer - Logistics Support - Commonwealth Games Planning Team (2 year fixed term/secondment)
The Person
You will have a sound knowledge and experience in the principles of event planning, and be able to demonstrate how you have planned large scale events.
With
strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be skilled in
developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders,
enabling effective collaboration whilst having the ability to influence and
negotiate with partners.
A
significant part of the role requires the Planning Officer to plan and deliver
presentations to a range of audiences, and an ability to work on your own
initiative, prioritise tasks, and display motivation and commitment to the
project.
You will also foster a culture of inclusion and
be able to work effectively amongst a diverse team, creating strong engagement
in order to meet performance objectives whilst embodying Force values and
behaviours.
You should be competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Powerpoint, and once in post, be able to develop a good knowledge of WMP intranet and IT systems.
Desirable Skills
Ideally you will have the ability to
complete objective setting to medium and long-term cycles, co-ordinating a
complex range of activities and balancing competing needs.
With experience of planning
multi-venue events, you should be solution focused with a flair for
innovation.

Conditions
This role is a 2 year fixed term
contract.
The
successful applicant will be expected to commit to remain in the role until the
delivery of the Commonwealth Games in August 2022 and for post event reporting
(unless there are exceptional circumstances).
The successful applicant will be
subject to appropriate vetting.
