An opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Development Advisor in the Organisational Learning and Development Department, within the Commissioning Team based at Tally Ho.

The purpose of the role is to liaise with and advise key personnel; scrutinise requests for training and challenge if necessary; compile the organisations L&D needs to meet resilience and succession planning requirements.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • To obtain NPUs and Departments L&D requirements to ensure their staff have the training appropriate to their role.
  • Collate, analyse and update demand for designated business areas, updating IT systems as necessary.
  • Monitor and provide advice on the risks and threats associated with L&D training delivery and the needs of the organisation.
  • Liaise with external forces as appropriate.
  • Assist with projects and other initiatives in relation to developing and improving the structure of the organisation in line with internal change and transformation programmes.

 

Essential/Desirable 

  • You will need to have excellent communication skills, organisational and IT skills with a strong customer service focus. 
  • The ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines so the ability to prioritise work load is essential. 
  • The use of MS office to an advanced level is essential. 
  • A knowledge of Fusion, Skills database, and the LDP would be helpful but is not essential, as training / courses will be given on all IT systems used within L&D.

Vetting 
Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include 
a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.

Medical Information

Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully passing vetting and medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.

Location

The role will be based at Tally-Ho Police Training College, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Hours of Work

Core hours of work are Monday to Friday 0800 x 1600, however we do have a flexible working scheme.

Holiday Entitlement/Benefits

  • Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Annual leave entitlment will be 26 days and after 5 years it will be 31days.
