Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Knowledge/ Qualifications 
  • A good standard of education, with a strong maths qualification
  • An understanding of quantitative and qualitative research and statistical techniques. This will include the ability to devise an empirical research proposal and determine the most appropriate methodology to formulate and test a hypothesis.
Experience
  • Experience working in the business area of performance management, research or statistics
  • Ability to research, collate, analyse and interpret data from a wide range of sources including computerised and manual record systems.
  • Proven numerical ability
  • Creating and presenting reports
Skills/ Abilities
  • Able to work methodically and logically with an enquiring and analytical mind
  • Intermediate to advanced excel user, including making pivot tables, databases and formulas
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and manage competing demands
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision and use own initiative
  • Ability to identify problems and seek appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Degree in a research/statistical discipline or other relevant subject (or demonstration of the intellectual abilities associated with that level)
  • An understanding of performance management techniques
  • Knowledge and experience or SQL programming
  • Knowledge and experience of using SPSS or R
