Essential Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Have a good standard of education.
  • An understanding of research and statistical techniques to include the ability to devise a research proposal, determine the most appropriate methodology, formulate and test hypothesis.
  • Experience in working in the business area of performance management, research or statistics.
  • Ability to research, collate, analyse and interpret data from a wide range of sources including computerised and manual record systems.
  • Have significant skill in the use of Microsoft Office products, data mining tools and other relevant computer based information and analysis systems.

 

    Desirable Knowledge and Experience


  • A degree in a research/statistical discipline or other relevant subject (or able to demonstrate the intellectual abilities associated with that level).
  • An understanding of performance management techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience of SQL programming.
  • Knowledge and experience of using SPSS.
  • Knowledge and experience of using SFN / Six Sigma.


    Essential Skills


  • Proven numerical ability.
  • Ability to work methodically and logically with an enquiring and analytical mind.
  • Significant IT skills with the ability to work with new systems.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and manage competing demands.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimum supervision and use own initiative.
  • Ability to identify problems and seek appropriate solutions.
  • Able to work as part of a team.

 

   Conditions


   You will work to an agreed shift pattern. Working outside of standard office hours may be required. There is a requirement to work flexibly at all times with due regard to prevailing       workloads and priorities. There may be a requirement at times to travel to other locations within the Force area.
