NABIS Deputy Head of Intelligence
About You
- The ideal candidate for this role will have a good understanding of the scale, nature and threat of firearms criminality affecting the UK and to be able to communicate this effectively to UK Law Enforcement, and occasionally to international partners.
- You will be able to demonstrate that you are a strong communicator with excellent presentation and negotiation skills. The post holder will be expected to operate at a senior level in order to inform, communicate and deliver information effectively, as well as building relationships between partner agencies and NABIS. You will have demonstrable experience and skills in preparing written reports and papers to a high standard that are appropriate for a wide range of audiences.
- You will have experience of supervising staff in a busy environment with competing demands, ideally incorporating a service based ethos with the ability to work to tight deadlines. This is a demanding, exciting job which is challenging but also very rewarding.
Previous Experience and Skills
- You will be part of an organisation of both police officers and police staff colleagues and should be able to demonstrate an excellent range of transferrable skills.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential Criteria:
- Intelligence/Investigative background
- Specialist technical knowledge in the Criminal Use & Supply of firearms
- Organisational Knowledge: structure and functioning of NABIS
- Evidence of leading a team
- Intelligence Analysis Operational/Strategic
- Verbal & Written presentation skills to a variety of audiences.
Desirable Criteria:
- Law enforcement Intelligence/Investigative & analysis background at a strategic Level
- Experience of Dealing with UK Law Enforcement
- Legislative knowledge of firearms governance and criminality

Security
Due to the nature
of the role you will be required to undertake / currently hold Security Check
(SC) and Management level vetting. You will need to have resided within
the UK for a minimum of 3 years due to vetting requirements and is a condition of acceptance to this post.
The post holder will be expected to regularly travel across the UK and may be required to travel internationally on occasions, therefore you must hold a valid UK Passport and full UK Driving Licence.

Interview dates and location
- Shortlisting of application forms will take place week commencing 11th November 2019.
- Interviews will take place 18th to 22nd November 2019.
- Interviews will take place at the West Midlands Police HQ in Birmingham City Centre. NABIS does not cover the cost of travel to your interview/assessment unless otherwise stated.
