Museum Engagement Officer - (Part Time, Pro-rata)
Essential requirements
- Experience of working with young people
- Experience of delivery of education sessions working with the general public, school children and specialist groups within a museum environment.
- Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers in a museum environment
- Experience of utilising museum collections for educational purposes.
- Experience of using digital platforms, websites and social media to increase audience
- Experience of delivering a proactive and quality customer experience
- Knowledge and experience of writing risk assessments
- An understanding of the National Curriculum and Citizenship in relation to policing and history.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills including written and verbal
- Presentation skills – being able to deliver effective presentations with and without PowerPoint
- Being able to influence, engage and inspire young people
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Ability to utilise Office packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media platforms
Desirable requirements:
- Teaching or history qualification at degree level
- Knowledge of West Midlands policing history and current policing safety messages and priorities
