Knowledge & Experience 

Essential:
  • Degree level or equivalent work experience in domestic abuse/community safety
  • Knowledge of the legislative framework relating to domestic abuse
  • Experience of working operationally and strategically in a multi-agency environment and with professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to lead and build effective relationships both internally and externally, showing sensitivity for others and valuing diversity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to challenge, negotiate, support, influence and engage senior management and peers.
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of high risk victims of domestic violence.
  • Good understanding of advocacy and risk assessment and risk management.
  • Experience of reviewing and compiling policies and procedures within a domestic abuse/community safety related field.
  • Understanding of safety and risk in relation to domestic violence and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience of interpreting statistical and policy information in order to continuously improve services and multi-agency working.
  • Significant experience of presenting information clearly and in a variety of formats.
  • Experience of developing, implementing and managing SMART action plans.
  • Significant experience of delivering training to a variety of audiences.
  • Good level of IT literacy and experience of using a variety of software systems.
  • Significant experience of writing clear, structured reports and delivering succinct oral presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to make sound and timely decisions based on professional judgement, analysis of information and deliver innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience of providing leadership, advice, guidance and information within a multi-agency environment
  • Ability to manage own workload and support MARAC Administrators where required.
  • Experience of working with confidential and disturbing information.
  • Experience of developing and applying local policies/protocols including those relating to information sharing and multi-agency working.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to services for individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.
