Legal Advisor (12 month fixed term contract)
Essential
You must hold a law degree or CILEx Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice (Associate Member CILEx) and be able to demonstrate experience of advising on a range of Civil Litigation or Civil Orders.
In addition, you will be able to provide resilience for all work conducted for the wider Joint Legal Services in relation to all aspects and functions of its work.
Essential Skills
As a clear and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to work with a wide range of personnel across the two Forces.
You will have excellent analytical skills, first rate drafting skills, and be able to demonstrate sound and balanced judgement with good attention to detail.
You will have the ability to work under pressure, excel at meeting tight deadlines and have strong file management skills.
Being tactically aware, you will be able to evidence prior experience in providing legal advice to senior figures in an organisation, and have a constructive approach to problem solving.
You will be able to work autonomously or as part of a team, and be capable of taking on new areas of work with minimal supervision. You will also be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
Conditions
The role is based on 36.5 hours per week, where the post holder will be required to work out of both West Midlands and Staffordshire offices, depending on the demands of the service.
The post holder will be required to travel to locations throughout the Force areas and may be required to work at weekends and on Bank/Public Holidays on occasions.
This post is a fixed term contract for 12 months as maternity cover.
The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate vetting.
