Role Responsibilities:

The post holder will be responsible for the training design, development and delivery of training to the CT Network aligned to the Intelligence Prevent Projects etc. thematic work streams provided to the CT Network across all CT regions.

To plan, design, prepare, quality assure, co-ordinate and deliver the content and delivery of bespoke CT training throughout the UK.  Facilitate opportunities for learning and personal development in accordance with the National Training and Development Strategy.

To develop, validate and evaluate training courses to ensure they achieve organisational objectives, meet customer requirement and contribute to the personal development of students.

To facilitate and deliver the National Counter Terrorism training programme in accordance with other regional and national trainers and subject experts.

To research, prepare and update lesson plans and any associated training material including hand-outs, PowerPoint slides, etc. for all courses.

Address training issues highlighted in operational or exercise reviews/debriefs to ensure operational performance is maintained and developed.

Ensure the delivery of training packages effectively meets the needs of the CT Network by the most appropriate method, including but not restricted to; facilitation, didactic, demonstration, role-plays and practical case studies.

To assist in the review and development of training modules as part of the national Counter Terrorism training programme.

To assist with the identification of training and development gaps for the CT Network.

To assist with day-to-day administration including but not restricted to; student attendance and liaison with relevant parties, resource preparation, etc.

To be responsible for the supervision, discipline and welfare of students whilst they are on the course and to provide the necessary support and encouragement required for them and their mentors in the workplace.

To assist in monitoring the effectiveness of the learning and development programmes through the identified evaluation process.

To ensure training products are fit for purpose in line with the principles of Best Value.

Take appropriate action in order to create a healthy working and training environment in keeping with the H&S policy and processes.

Monitor and ensure all staff are given equality of opportunity within the learning and development environment.

Liaise with National and Regional departments where necessary, to maintain consistency of training delivery.

Promote equality, diversity and Human Rights in working practices by developing and maintaining positive working relationships, ensuring that colleagues are treated fairly and contributing to developing equality of opportunity in working practices.

Any other duties commensurate with the role and band/grade.



Essential Skills and Competencies:


Post holder will have sound working knowledge and personal experience of Counter Terrorism Policing specifically in the thematic area applied for prevent offender management etc.

Hold a training qualification, Cert Ed or equivalent or have a willingness and ability to acquire the requisite accreditation.

Have experience of delivering training courses or presentations to students and other trainers.

Experience of IT packages to design and deliver training including Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio etc.

Be conversant with and be able to identify and contribute to best practice within the Counter Terrorist field to ensure that training is revised and refreshed accordingly.

Hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel nationally.

Must evidence strong and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills as the post holder is required to support negotiate and influence at all levels throughout the CT network to ensure training is delivered to a national standard.

Ability to prioritise and manage conflicts (people and tasks).

Networking, engagement, persuasion, influencing and communication skills.

Ability to influence and build effective collaborative relationships with a wide range of professionals within and around the National CT Network.

Demonstrate awareness of equality and diversity appropriate to this role and have a high level of personal integrity.



Desirable Skills and Competencies:


Evidence of successful interpretation and application of relevant legislation, including contributing to new legislation /national bodies.

 

Experience of working in a Learning, Training or Exercising environment.
