Your experience will include

  • Extensive experience of working in a senior role within a strategic planning environment
  • Proven ability to analyse, interpret, present and clearly communicate complex briefings producing insightful briefing notes and papers.
  • A track record of drafting and implementing strategy and policy in a large and complex organisation.
  • Significant professional experience in policy analysis and evaluation.
  • Operating with a high degree of credibility at a senior level within an organisation.
  • Experience of Financial accountability at a senior level in managing budgets and resources
  • Ability to successfully meet challenging targets and planned objectives.
  • Evidence of devising, developing and delivering business plans.
  • Possess broad administrative experience including leading a significant business unit.
  • Experience of working in a senior strategic planning role within the policing/law enforcement sector

Your knowledge should encompass:

  • Ability to understand and interpret organisational policies, procedures and working practices in all areas of the business to influence the development of longer-term strategies
  • Highly developed knowledge of public sector working and a comprehensive understanding of the policing sector
  • Knowledge of data sources relevant to policing and how data is interpreted to inform publications, reports and publicly available performance indicators
  • Demonstrable strategic leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; with an ability to clearly communicate complex information in written and oral briefings
  • Excellent management and leadership skills with a proven capacity to engage, motivate and performance manage staff
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills – demonstrable evidence of ability to construct concise and compelling briefings
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills with ability to apply these skills across the organisation, and with relevant external bodies, to shape future policy and processes.

Based at Lloyd House in Birmingham city centre, the role has standard contractual hours (36.5 hrs per week), with agile/flexible working.

Interviews will take place on 17th and 20th January 2020
