Essential:
- A minimum of Bachelor's Degree required in a field in a research based subject that enables critical thinking.
- Significant experience in management of leading diverse teams.
- Highly developed knowledge of research, analysis and evaluation.
- Experience of analysis and planning.
- Ability to test facts and assumptions, and gain a full understanding of the situation. Identify the key issues clearly, and the inter-relationship between different factors.
- Familiarity with the application of predictive analytics, cognitive computing and forecasting to real world problems
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple competing and complex work streams with the flexibility to meet challenging deadlines
- Demonstrate the ability to influence through negotiation
- Evidence previous experience of leading and managing a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to structure communications of complex issues to non-technical audiences
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills
- Ability and experience to provide a technical consultative role
- Evidence of lateral thinking and problem solving
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Cloudera, Hortonworks, NoSQL, Cassandra, etc
- Experience with visualisation analytics technologies like Tableau, Qlikview
- Some familiarity with statistical analyses, machine learning and the potential ethical issues that arise from them.
- Experience in Social Research methods
- Substantial consulting experience with evidence of significant client impact and value creation
- Demonstrates a real belief in public service, focusing on what matters to the public and will best serve their interests.
Additional Information
- Working Monday to Friday covering core working hours however, there will be occasions where weekend working, bank or religious holidays will be required.
- Attendance at evening and other out-of-hour meetings as required.
- You will also be ‘on call’ on a rotational basis throughout the year.
- This is an agile role, requiring you to travel to other locations within the Force area and outside however, you will be mainly based at WMP HQ, Lloyd House in Birmingham
- The successful applicant will need to undertake Management vetting prior to employment.
