Knowledge & Experience:
 
Essential:
  • Proven management experience including managing change and the development of staff
  • An understanding of forensic processes and how they relate to the delivery of criminal justice.
  • Experience in processing evidence types, including the appropriate means of recovery and storage and the sequencing of scientific examination.
  • Proven experience of working within a high demand and resource led environment.
  • Proven budgetary control experience.
Desirable:
  • Experience of managing a forensic discipline whilst exercising strong leadership and motivating and developing staff with a positive organisational culture.
  • An understanding of contract implementation and management.
  • Knowledge and experience of Force information systems.
  • Quality management awareness and audit compliance and experience.
Skills:
 
Essential:
  • Proven effective Communication skills, written and oral including experience of giving presentations.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing demands
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and apply discretion at all times.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to Diversity and Inclusion. 
Desirable:
  • Able to develop and proactively manage relationships with police investigators, key stakeholders and partners/customers
  • Evidence and ability to apply a business perspective to daily challenges including negotiating, positively influencing, problem solving and project management skills.
