Knowledge & Experience

  

Essential:

  • In depth practical and procedural knowledge of the Criminal Investigation and Procedures Act 1996, the codes of practice, the Attorney Generals Guidelines, The Disclosure Manual relating to disclosure and the Manual of Guidance, local,regional and national protocols
  • To be trained and experienced in the HOLMES2 disclosure facility (or willing to undergo this training).
  • To have practical experience of disclosure
  • Proven ability to research and manage projects to meet strict time scales
  • Previous experience of producing detailed, concise and accurate reports with appropriate summaries
  • Proven ability to apply the law and interpret the guidelines 
  • Knowledge of the Major Incident Room Standardised Administration Procedures
  • Experience in briefing, addressing meetings and giving presentations

Desirable:

  • Training experience in the creation of training packages and delivery of training to students or seminars
  • Previous investigatory experience
  • Previous experience of working in a major incident room environment
  • SC Vetted

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and influencing skills 
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Able to advise to Executive level and effectively communicate with all ranks.
  • Proven presentation skills and a high level of IT skills
  • Integrity
  • Flexible approach to working practices
  • Experience of effectively managing and prioritising work load in order to ensure all deadlines are met
Desirable:

  • Able to work closely with Government bodies completing reviews/new legislative documents within this area.

Hours of Work and Flexibility:

  • Contracted hours will be flexible between 0700 and 1800 hours Monday to Friday.
  • May be required to work outside normal working hours on occasions, including Bank Holidays and weekends.  May be required to attend duty at short notice.  Will be based at the headquarters of the Homicide team but duties may require deployment in any force designated Major Incident Room.  May be required to be deployed and reside outside the force area.
