Firearms Instructor
Knowledge & Experience:
Essential:
- Nationally trained Police Firearms Instructor (within last 3 years)
- Authorised Police Firearms Officer (within last 3 years)
- Sound knowledge of the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC)
- PTLLS level 3 qualification or equivalent
Desirable:
- A1 or TAQA Assessor qualified
- Hold a current accredited teaching qualification
- IOSH / NEBOSH trained
- Previous firearms specialist in D9 or D12 or D14 NPFTC Modules.
- Has a good working knowledge of JML Chronicle Firearms Training and Armoury systems
- Has been trained as a Police driver
Skills:
Essential:
- Good knowledge of computers; specifically Microsoft Office programmes
- Uses IT skills to plan and organise training and plan staff postings
- Must be capable of passing NPCC fitness test (bleep test) to level- 7.6
- Must pass WMP vetting
Desirable:
- Is able to produce comprehensive written reports
- Has good communication skills
- Has extensive knowledge of police weaponry
Appointment Type: Full time subject to 6 months’ probation, subject to vetting
Eligibility:
- Been continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years
- Have previously worked as a police firearms instructor within the last 3 years
