Essential Requirements

  • An unendorsed driving licence with B licence entitlement. 
  • Experience of driving and operating a range of cars and light commercial vehicles, including daily checks and routine maintenance necessary and appropriate to maintain roadworthy conditions.
  • Ability to comply with the necessary Force standards of competence for the vehicles to be driven or 
  • Ability to dynamically risk asses the suitability to lift/move equipment/goods weighing up to 25kg, using mechanical aids where necessary
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • To have a good knowledge of roads in the force area and nationally.
  • Computer literacy to facilitate updating of fleet management software with daily driving records and usage of other systems as necessary.
Desirable Requirements

  • To hold a first aid at work certificate.
  • Possession of BE, C1, C1E, D1 and D1E licence entitlement, or be willing to undertake training to achieve the required standard, to enable driving and operating a range of personnel carriers and light commercial vehicles, including daily checks and routine maintenance necessary to maintain roadworthy conditions.
  • Possession of a police driving authority.
