Essential

  • Experience related to the specialist field of computers, computer investigations or computer;
  • Must possess integrity and professionalism at the highest standard;
  • Must be a dynamic motivated individual who seeks a challenging role in policing and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Must possess a high level of flexibility in order to respond to new and dynamic information;
  • Must possess a good understanding of the benefits of accurate information and the ability to assess and utilise this knowledge to maximum effect in furtherance of Regional and National objectives;
  • Must be willing to work on live scenes in potentially uncomfortable environments;
  • A technical aptitude and the ability to learn new skills, being adaptable and open to change, embracing new ideas and ways of working;
  • Should have the ability to utilise the Internet understanding how it can enhance investigations;
  • Be able to concentrate on high volumes of information and provide analysis and inference to inform operational decision making;

Desirable

  • Experience of forensic laboratory practices and procedures, evidence handling and court presentation;
  • Knowledge of malware, database construction and network investigation;
  • Programming Skills – VBA, Python, PHP etc;
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 Environment;
  • Experience in managing a Windows Domain environment;
  • Experience in dealing with server hardware;
  • Experience in working with SQL.
