CWG- Village Liaison Manager
Key Responsibilities
You will:
The role will focus on working with all partners and key stakeholders delivering the Athlete Village function to ensure the integrity of the security regime for a village along with providing a Neighbourhood Policing service to this community for a finite period of time during July/August 2022.
Plan and manage the security regime for the Athletes Villages.
Work within our policing strategies, directing the deployment of resources and developing strategic working relationships with partners and key stakeholders to facilitate the policing team to work effectively within the Athletes Villages.
Plan, manage and monitor policing operations and activities to ensure the effective management of competing demands and priorities to make informed deployment decisions and ensure best use of available resources and build confidence within the Athlete Villages.
Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, communities and partners, driving collaboration across policing and wider public services provision to assist in meeting the neighbourhood policing strategy, wider Force priorities and building community confidence in policing.
Apply evidence based policing and recognised approaches to problem solving to inform the development of neighbourhood policing strategies and develop public confidence in policing.
Manage ongoing risks to vulnerable groups and individuals within the community to mitigate the impact of criminality and disorder.
Review and report on team expenditure to ensure the efficient use of available budgets and maximise value for money.
Analyse performance data and information against team objectives in order to effectively inform workforce planning, budgets and the measurement of department and force goals.
The Person
- Able to plan to short and medium-term cycles, to coordinate a range of activities appropriately within the function, to match these to available resources, and to identify and mitigate known risks to delivery.
- Able to develop and motivate a team and create strong engagement of individuals with their personal and team objectives and with Force values, behaviours and strategic priorities.
- Able to develop and implement an effective stakeholder and partner relationship plan which develops trusts and enables contributions.
- Able to engage a variety of audiences through a range of media to inform and/or persuade.
- Skilled in setting, monitoring and enabling high performance against team and individual performance objectives.
- Able to identify potential applications of new or improved practices related to area of work to improve ways of working.
- Able to contribute to resource planning, to manage financial budgets and utilise commercial acumen to make risk-based decisions that deliver effective outcomes within the resources allocated.
- Able to seek out and identify a range of information to identify patterns, trends and options, and use SARA (scan, analyse, respond and assess) principles to solve multifaceted and complex problems.
- Skilled in coaching and mentoring to enable appropriate career and professional development.
- Able to manage the delivery of change initiatives within own team.
- Able to problem solve and critically question and identify potential opportunities to enhance efficiency and/or effectiveness across teams.
- Able to maintain personal resilience and wellbeing in complex and challenging situations and enable others to develop their own personal resilience and wellbeing
Conditions
Internal applicants
You are required to notify your line manager that you have applied for this role.
Your substantive role will be retained for the duration of the project.
External applicants
You will need to confirm with your home force regarding retention of your substantive posting.
Hours and Location
Deployment will be for 30 days, from mid-July 2022, date to be confirmed.
You will however, be required to undertake any training commensurate to the role from April 2022, as part of the on-boarding process. This will have minimal impact on your current posting and notice will be given.
You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern, consisting of 10-hour duties, working between the hours of 06:00 am until 01:00 am
You will be deployed to one of the 3 Athlete Villages within Birmingham. You may be required to work at a different location at short notice.
Vetting
The successful applicant will be subject to appropriate vetting.
Medical
Appointment to this role will be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
