Role Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the CTU when a Fusion cell is established at a terrorist incident whilst giving tactical advice to assist in the resolution of an incident.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships/protocols with external agencies (MI5, SFLO etc.) and with cadre members to assist in the resolution of an incident.
- Coordinate (as a subject matter expert) the effective deployment of the SMC, SPC, equipment and staff in support of Fusion Training, exercises and in planned/no notice responses to incidents.
- Coordinate and assist in the delivery of Fusion exercises to ensure interoperability between Fusion Business Partners.
- Coordinate and compile response plans for Police Forces SCC’s and CPNI sites. This includes liaising and influencing planning staff to ensure successful deployment of the SMC/SPC for that CTU area.
- Deliver/train Fusion presentation products within region to partners to increase awareness of the Fusion process.
- To be deployed nationally to provide Fusion tactical advice at any time, where and when required.
- To look after the preparedness response plans for the Fusion process for the assigned region.
- To provide tactical advice at the scene or in the Fusion cell of a terrorist incident with officers of all ranks.
- The post holder will be responsible for 2 CT regions: West Midlands and Wales.
- To identify and resolve inconsistencies within the Fusion process locally, influencing solutions at Local and National level.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Experience of Project Management – for example: integrating future systems/processes at a national level.
- Previous experience of counter terrorism and/or domestic extremism operations.
- Willingness to learn IT systems, with the ability to train/coach individuals and act as a point of contact for system issues i.e. CLIO.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate and control internal and external partners in an operational environment.
- Ability to work effectively, both as part of a team and unsupervised, and to manage and co-ordinate personal workloads.
- Must have a full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel to different locations across the UK.
- Self-motivated with flexible approach in terms of working times and able to cope with pressure, using initiative to solve problems.
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
- Hold a training qualification or recent experience in training.
