Role Responsibilities:
- Manage regionally delivered projects as assigned by the regional change manager.
- Provide end to end management and delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure project management adheres to defined regional and national standards to deliver outputs on time, to specification and budget.
- Ensure the creation the day-to-day maintenance of specific project management and improvement techniques and products.
- Work collaboratively change and improvement stakeholders to ensure the realisation of business benefits.
- To understand how the department works to understand the impact of proposed change to unit infrastructure or to its people.
- To actively keep internal and external stakeholders sighted on key risks, issues and decisions – escalating where appropriate.
- To provide methodical investigation and analysis to support the WMCTU business planning cycle.
- Demonstrate awareness of equal opportunities and other peoples behavioural. physical, social and welfare needs.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- At least 2 years’ experience of managing projects.
- Managing multiple work streams.
- Educated to HND equivalent level in relevant field or at least 2 years’ experience of project managing.
- Experience of business improvement initiatives including process mapping.
- Written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
- Qualified or working towards a recognised PPM qualification (MSP and/or Prince 2).
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritise and manage conflicts (people and tasks).
- Workshop facilitation.
- Networking, engagement, persuasion, influencing and communications skills with stakeholders.
- Written, oral and presentations skills.
- Ability to show tact and diplomacy managing sensitive issues in a discreet manner.
- Strong numerical and verbal critical reasoning ability in order to think logically and clearly to take rational decisions.
- Ability to analyse both qualitative and quantitative information.
- Ability to identify the wider implications of any change and the inter-dependencies between different initiatives.
- Possesses a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competent and experienced in the use of MS Office applications (specifically Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Results orientated with personal commitment to professional development.
Desirable Skills and Competencies:
- Experience within a Public Sector environment.
- Experience of managing senior stakeholders.
- Supervision of Staff.
- Understanding of concept of business risk.
- Ability to build effective collaborative relationships with stakeholders both nationally and locally.
- Strategically aware with the ability to see the bigger picture, but able to translate and describe in detailed plan form.
- Ability to set plans at a strategic level and managing to successful completion.
