Role Responsibilities
- To receive, assess, develop and investigate all new lead intelligence entering the CTU and initiating action appropriate to the threat.
- Working with partner agencies to provide intelligence support to major covert investigations for International Counter Terrorism (ICT) and Domestic Extremism (DE).
- Liaising with and point of contact for Local Policing Units (LPU’s) and regional partners in the development of new lead intelligence.
- Provide intelligence support when executive action is taken.
- Single point of contact for CTU duty senior officer.
- Conduct intelligence debriefs where appropriate.
- Handling of covertly obtained material in accordance with identified policy and process.
- Provide intelligence cell support to overt/covert major incidents.
- Out of hours cover for internal and external enquiries for Regional partners and LPU’s.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Knowledge and understanding of intelligence practices.
- Knowledge of Covert and Overt intelligence practices.
- Working knowledge and understanding of MOPI.
- Working knowledge and understanding of National Intelligence Model (NIM).
- Evidence working on major/complex investigations.
- Initiative and innovation while working as part of a team.
- To be able to undertake sensitive high profile enquiries with limited supervision.
- Ability to conduct research across multiple datasets.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent use of grammar and strong report writing skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of CTU/CTIU/Special Branch structures and practices.
- Knowledge of covert policing techniques and major investigations.
