Role Responsibilities:
- Providing assurance, on behalf of the CT Head, that Policies and procedures are consistently applied and local mechanisms are in place to continually monitor compliance.
- Ensuring IMU compliance with NSIM, IHM, Access and Visibility (‘Dare to Share’ principles), Multi – Equity, RRD and other relevant policies.
- Ensuring that information and intelligence is being assessed and managed consistently and within the prescribed time frames.
- Conducting peer reviews of decision-making and associated rationales to ensure that the correct outcome is determined and recorded with sufficient detail.
- Ensuring that audited data at a Force level is collated and recorded onto the Regional workbook templates on a monthly basis (Housekeeping).
- A regular presence across all local forces/SB’s to drive consistency and standards.
- Capturing and communicating best practice developed within the region for the benefit of the CT/DE Network.
- Producing management information for force and regional senior management in relation to business assurance activity and findings.
- Identifying and addressing any local performance issues as appropriate.
- Ensuring that Emerging and Residual Threat (ERT) and Residual Subjects of Interest (RSOI) are effectively managed through ‘triggered reviews’ in line with the National Framework.
- Supporting reviews conducted by the CTPHQ National BA and IA teams, involving travel across the CT Network, and any other duties as directed by the Head of the National BA Team.
- Attending BA Workshops as a Regional representative.
- Undertake security reviews, with the assistance of the CTP HQ IA team and implement subsequent security recommendations.
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of existing priorities, threats and risks and, a solid thematic understanding of the issues confronting the CT/DE Network.
- Knowledge of CT policing and its different proactive and reactive functions.
- Knowledge of the Government Classification Scheme and associated policies.
- Thorough understanding of the receipt and evaluation of information and intelligence in line with the NSIM and IHM.
- Thorough understanding of Action Management and Development options, intelligence handling procedures, sanitisation, ‘Action On’, release requests and the handling of covertly – obtained material.
- Thorough understanding of Briefing and Dissemination processes within the CT/DE Network.
- Appropriate knowledge of assets available at National, Regional and Force level.
- Have an understanding of the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework.
- Have an understanding of security policies in relation to secure environments.
- Ability to produce written reports to a high standard and communicate findings to senior leadership.
- Ability to manipulate and analyse complex datasets.
