Essential
- Ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports
- Working knowledge of confidentiality and data protection issues
- Experience of working in an environment dealing with the public and partner agencies.
- Be willing to successfully undertake any training requirements in respect of the role, which will include:
Personal Safety Training (conflict resolution level) West Midland Police IT systems training Investigation Module Experience of working effectively in a team. Desirable
- Investigation and evidence gathering experience.
- Previous experience in criminal and civil law, and criminal justice system.
- Working knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.
- Knowledge of police policy and procedures in relation to the role.
- Experience of dealing with conflict.
- Experience of working in a multi-agency environment, working with partner agencies.
- Knowledge and understanding surrounding risk assessment, specifically the use of the National Decision Model and the DASH/DARA risk assessment tool.
- Operational knowledge and experience in presenting evidence at Magistrates Court.
- Knowledge and experience of civil interventions legislation available to police and partner agencies.
- Experience of working in a multi-agency environment, working with partner agencies.
Essential
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and the ability to discuss/negotiate and present in a pressurised court environment on behalf of WMP.
- Competent IT skills.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and producing results in a pressurised environment.
- Self-motivation skills and able to contribute to problem solving activity.
- Experience of effectively managing workloads.
- Requirement to hold a full UK driving license and be willing to pass the WMP driving test to drive unmarked police vehicles if required.
- Ability and flexibility to travel regionally on a regular basis for court and meetings/training events as required.
- Contracted hours will be 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Post holder may be required to work outside these hours from time to time and be required to work Flexible hours of work to facilitate court hours and preparation of applications within prescribed timescales taking into account individual circumstances
- This role may require the post holder to perform duties on a force wide basis
