- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and sustain a range of partnership relationships. This includes the ability to plan and deliver presentations to a range of audiences.
- Clear knowledge and understanding of the diversity and inclusion strategy for West Midlands Police and how this links to building engagement in our communities
- Skilled in engaging a diverse range of stakeholders and enabling effective collaboration which draws upon a diverse range of skill sets.
- Able to use a range of communication and influencing techniques and methods to successfully negotiate, collaborate and / or effect change.
- Able to lead, develop and motivate a diverse team; creating strong engagement with the function’s performance objectives and with Force values and behaviours.
- Able to engage a variety of audiences through a range of media to inform and / or persuade.
- Understand the concept of problem solving in communities, working alongside partners and communities in order to be able to support deliver short, medium and longer term positive change.
- Experience of developing volunteer opportunities to increase the number of volunteers and active citizens
- Knowledgeable and competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Powerpoint.

- Successful applicants will be subject to appropriate vetting
- Successful applicants will be expected to be committed to remain in the post until the delivery of the City of Culture in 2021 and for post event reporting unless under exceptional circumstances.
