Essential:
- Educated to degree level. Qualified solicitor or barrister (with minimum of 7 years PQE)
- Previous experience of leadership in a legal department, a motivator and influencer of people
- Proven ability to interact with a range of key stakeholders in a multi-agency environment
- The ability to manage and understand budgets
- Able to apply legal knowledge in an operational policing environment
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills with the credibility to work at a senior level with senior clients
- Previous experience of working with or for a public body
- Knowledge/experience of police law, public law, human rights law
Desirable:
- Knowledge/experience of civil litigation
- Knowledge/experience of public inquiries
- Knowledge/experience of Employment law
- Knowledge/experience of contracts and procurement law
