Essential Skills:
- Experience as an Intelligence Analyst within a law enforcement agency (LEA);
- Completion of the National Intelligence Analysis Training (NIAT);Evidence of research and analysis; and the application of analytical techniques;
- Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model;
- Problem Solving skills;
- Critical thinking & inference development skills;
- Interpreting & simplifying complex data sets;
- Excellent Communication Skills, both verbal and written;
- Influencing and negotiating with stakeholders;
- Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, internal and external partners
- Highly competent in the use of Microsoft packages, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel;
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
- Ability to work in a high pressure environment yet still providing accuracy at all times and a high level of detail;
- Ability to prioritise & plan own work to tight deadlines;
- Must have a driving licence & be prepared, if required, to work between Birmingham and Stafford or Birmingham and Defford.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working with communications data within investigations, producing evidential products
- Knowledge of relevant National/ Regional/ LEA data sources and systems including OCGM;
- Experience of relevant analytical tools, such as iBASE, i2 workstation, GIS applications and other customised databases
- Experience working in a police intelligence environment and experience of working with relevant police intelligence systems.
- Experience of working with covertly obtained products;
Other Requirements:
- Vetting required to SC (Enhanced);
- Must be Section 19 briefed by the appropriate agencies or willing to complete briefings as needed;
- Occasional work outside of normal office hours;
- Should have an interest in and be willing to maintain personal knowledge of changes in IT and communications technology.
- The post holder will need to have a driving license & may have to use their own vehicle so will need to ensure that they have business use insurance cover.
- The post holder may be required to work from different locations other than ROCU within the West Midlands region.
- The post holder will be expected to undertake training as and when required.
- The post holder will be expected to comply with health and safety requirements.
- Must possess a driving licence and be willing to travel
