Community Volunteer Drivers
The Person
We are looking for drivers who have the following skills.
Essential Skills
- Hold a clean Driving Licence for 2 years or more.
- Hold a C1 or D1 Driving Classification
- Have previous experience of working in logistics/warehouse and any other transferrable skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience driving a range of vehicles incl. manual / automatic gearbox and types e.g. Iveco / Mercedes / Hybrid)
- Minimum 2 years licensed to drive cars and vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (i.e mini buses)
Your Responsibilities
- Undertake receipt and storage of vehicles
- Effectively deal with vehicle / driver schedules
- Communicate with drivers and logistics operator colleagues
- Undertake enquiries by site users re vehicle management
- Familiarity with / use of the in-house Traffic Management System (training will be given)
- General Fleet related admin
Police Observer Programme Driver (POP) roles
- Be well organised
- Possess good communication skills
- Evidence of previous driving roles
Hours and Locations of Assistance
The hours will be agreed between you and a line manager based on, local requirement with due regard for your personal circumstances.
The location(s) at which the volunteer will provide assistance may vary however, all driving roles will remain within West Midlands and locations will be agreed in advance.
Vetting
All Volunteers will be subject to Police Vetting commensurate to the role.
